Illinois Valley Community College will offer face-to-face, day and evening automotive air conditioning classes starting Monday, July 13.
Following CDC guidelines, Automotive Air Conditioning and Heating (ATO 2250) will meet Monday through Thursday. Day class meets 9 a.m. to 12:50 p.m.; and night class 5:30 to 9:20 p.m.
Topics include the theory, construction, operation and servicing of AC systems in cars and light-duty trucks. Students will diagnose problems and repair systems using recovery equipment. Emphasis is placed on refrigerant R-134a and the new refrigerant R-1234yf.
Hybrid vehicle AC service and precautions, leak detection and automatic climate control will also receive special attention.
